Koehler Innovation & Technology underlines its commitment to “Modellfabrik Papier”

In the first quarter of 2024, the shareholders committee of “Modellfabrik Papier” was re-elected and filled after a three-year term. Dr. Markus Wildberger, Corporate Director Technology at Koehler Innovation & Technology, was re-elected as Chairman of the shareholders committee for the second term of office until the end of 2026.
The reduction of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions is a profound challenge that calls for cross-sector cooperation and the pooling of resources, says Markus Wildberger. The Modellfabrik Papier embodies this idea in a unique way. “As a member of the founding and shareholder committee, I am happy to continue to contribute my professional experience in developing strategic projects and implementing innovative strategies in a proactive manner to the work at hand.”
Since the non-profit holding company was founded in 2020, Koehler Innovation & Technology has also been active as a shareholder in the “Modellfabrik Papier”. The shareholders are providing basic funding for the “Modellfabrik Papier” until the end of 2026, while the research work is financed by public funds. Seven members of the shareholders’ group form the steering committee. Seven members of the shareholders make up the committee, which supports the research agendas of “Modellfabrik Papier” together with the management on behalf of the shareholders.
With its “Modellfabrik Papier” initiative, the paper industry is taking the initiative today to achieve the climate goals of tomorrow. Modellfabrik Papier aims to promote pre-competitive research into groundbreaking and scalable technologies and is supported by seven of Germany’s most renowned scientific institutes.
